And here's a funny contradiction: JWs teach that Satan and the demons can't read people's minds, but yet they can possess a person's brain and plant thoughts and voices in their mind? How exactly are they able to highjack a person's thoughts if they can't even read a person's mind?

Additionally, today's scientists are able to read basic emotions and thought patterns by analyzing brain wave activity and there is now technology that work based on mind control by reading brain waves for specific thoughts. If humans are already using technology to read basic thought patterns, do you think it's reasonable to believe that superior spirit creatures who in all likelihood have a far more advanced understanding of the workings of the human brain and have had thousands of years to study humans, would be unable to read human thoughts?

Jesus is his earthly name, Michael is his heavenly name

i know this topic has been discussed before on this forum, but as it goes in jw world we need reminders.. co said in his last talk i can't remember the title in speaking about jesus, that when jesus returned to heaven he resumed his name michael.

jesus was his earthly name.. through the entire rest of the bible after his ressurection not one reference is made about this.

case in point----when jesus oh wait michael pulled saul over and talked to him, he introduced his self as jesus.

Legacy: If those in other religions speculate that God is a trinity & it's not in there, you can say the same for the witnesses...Speculate that Michael is Jesus.

As a matter of fact if you examine the kind of reasoning JWs use to suggest that Michael is Jesus, you would notice that it is the exact same kind of reasoning that trinitarians use to suggest that Jesus is God. Trinitarians quote texts that speak of Jesus doing things that the bible also speak of God doing. JWs quote texts that speak of Michael doing things that JWs say only Jesus would/should do.

JWs counter the trinitarian reasoning by saying that Jesus acts as God's representative and that's why he does things that other texts say God does/will do. Well the same counter could apply to JW Jesus-Michaelism. Michael, being chief of all the angels, is directly under Jesus' command and the things that Jesus does, he does through Michael. So when the bible speaks of Jesus having an archangel's voice it is just a concise way of alluding to the fact that Jesus will use the archangel as his medium for calling forth the dead - even as Jehovah used Jesus as his medium for calling forth Lazarus from the tomb.

When you really think about it, it makes sense. Jesus has been exalted above all of creation. Does he himself have to "get his hands dirty" in doing anything directly? What are all the angels there for? Does Jesus himself have to battle with satan? Wouldn't it be giving satan more dignity/glory than he deserves to have the exalted Jesus personally fight him and personally bind him in the abyss? Wouldn't it be more humiliating and more fitting for Jesus to send a lower ranked angel to do this, thus telling satan he's not worth the trouble of Jesus coming to him in person? Why would God give satan the honor of having Jesus himself come in person to confine satan to the abyss?

Avoid Going back to the JW's - Educate Yourself about Mind Control

i've talked with some good friends on the board about this before and we seem to be in agreement : one reason ( among many ) that some disfellowshipped jw's go back and return to the wt organization is because they are full of uneeded guilt or uneeded fear because they haven't educated themselves about how the wt society uses mind control tactics to deceive them into thinking they have " nowhere else to go " .

i understand that some dfed ones may go back to the organization for family and friends- however- it's an exrecise in futility because once you learn the truth about the truth you cannot undo what you heard.

so some may just go back and live a fake jw life to appease family- but just think of how that can damage a person's emotional and mental health playing the fake jw game the rest of their lives !

The Seventh Day Adventists also teach that Michael is Jesus.

Here's a line of reasoning that might work:

A person who resigns from membership in a church should not be treated differently by the church than it treats persons who were never members to begin with. Nor should the church be teaching existing members to treat former members differently than they would treat any other never-member of the church.

I think the fact that the Watchtower teaches its members to treat resigned members differently to never-members amouints to the Watchtower seeking to impose its punitivie authority on a person who is not a member of the organization by virtue of telling its members to shun such individuals. I think a fundamental principle that should be at work is this: A member of a church should have the right to return to the same status he had before becoming a member (to the extent humanly possible, of course). No organization should have the right to forever have an influence on a person's life - if even indirectly by how it teaches its members to treat that person - after the person has severed his ties with that organization.

Any active jws, without using the phrase "God must have..." Can you prove that Noah's ark actually happened

i have a number of problems with the noah's ark story that i could never find the answer to in the bible and so i thought i could ask here:.

1.how did noah get animals that are indigenous to areas he could not get to (e,g penguins, koalas, kangaroos, moose etc) .

2.the flood supposedly happened around 4000 years ago but there is evidence of civilisation dating back a lot further.

God could have tested Noah's faith in other more useful ways than having him labor on an inadequate means of saving that God still had to step in and apply supernatural patches to. I can think of a lot more efficient ways for an allpowerful God to kill off all but a few than having to drown the whole planet with water killing off, not only wicked people, but millions of innocent animals.

Why does he have to resort to killing the wicked by the use of traumatic events like floods, wars and armageddon? Why doesn't he just have all the wicked die in their sleep? Because contrary to what JWs and many others teach, the God of the bible is a vengeful sadist who takes pleasure in making the wicked suffer a horrendous death:

"And I will cause distress to mankind, and they will certainly walk like blind men; because it is against Jehovah that they have sinned. And their blood will actually be poured out like dust, and their bowels like the dung." - Zephanaiah 1:17, oNWT

Modern western civilization is more refined morally than he is. Today those who are put to death by the state face lethal injection instead of the kinds of barbaric carnage that the God of the bible seems to delight in.

worldly women don't all ask you to see her aquarium

last night i was watching the secret elder's video about the jw who sleeps with a worldly women and i could not stop laughing.. when i was 17 i thought that all worldly women would sleep with anyone, i remember a beautiful neighbor who i tried to kiss and she just flat out said no.

i tried twice to make out with this girl and i just could not understand why she would not say yes .

she did not have an aquarium.... .

I just thought of a good joke for any awake single sister still in. You can mention to an elder that you have an aquaruim at home and that you'll love to show them on their next shepherding visit. It would be interesting to see how the elder would react.
